Role and Responsibilities: - Enter and submit title and loan documents into software programs to open orders and track applicant’s progress
- Liaise with commercial team to ensure all items are complete, settlement figures are accurate, and ensure the transaction is recorded and any outstanding issues are resolved.
- Work with title officer and underwriter to prepare title insurance policy and binders and title commitments, and with loan closer to prepare HUD-1 real estate settlement statements
- Ensure all closing instructions are followed as per the closing package, and coordinate with loan officer, mortgage loan processor, and underwriter to be sure all underwriting commitments have been satisfied
- Aid title officers with administrative assistant essential duties, including clerical and data entry support
- Communicate with customers, real estate agents, lenders, and other parties involved in the transaction
- Engage in Quality control of incoming documents to the predetermined standards of the department.
- Actively learn to record various documents in the Mortgage industry across the county.
- Understand and comply with regulatory requirements for nationwide recording.
- Timely and accurate sending of recordings to proper jurisdictions.
- Comprehend how to address various types of rejections.
- Ship Recorded collateral back to correct location based upon closing instructions
- Engage with local municipalities to address any kinds of questions that may arise.
- Handle correspondences with borrowers/notaries/clients in a professional manner.
- Conduct county level recon to follow up on aged files.
- Monitors workflow queues and department reports to ensure timely processing of the file through order opening and follow ups for post-closing accounting issues.
- Works collaboratively with all stakeholders including but not limited to internal operations teams, client, outside counsel, and title agent partners.
- Successfully meets or exceeds all Company established performance/production metrics as set forth by the Senior Management Team.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualification and Education Requirements: - High school diploma or GED required; Baccalaureate degree preferred.
- 3+ years’ experience in commercial title and closing.
- Work under general supervision.
- Strong customer service skills required.
- National purchase and refinance experience preferred.
- Experience utilizing ResWare or similar software preferred.
Preferred Skills: - Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely present issues, ideas and recommendations in verbal, written and presentation formats.
- Highly motivated, inquisitive, self-started with the ability to multi-task and effectively manage priorities to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, ability to high volume and the capacity to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
