Commercial Trailer Maintenance Technician — St. Paul, MN

A day in this role

Sun up, shop lights on. You roll into a busy St. Paul bay where a lineup of semi‑trailers awaits expert hands. Your morning might begin with a brake inspection, move into a suspension repair, and wrap with tracking down an electrical glitch—each task done with precision, safety, and pride. You document what you find, collaborate with teammates to keep turnaround times tight, and leave every workspace cleaner than you found it. As the day moves, you keep an eye on new tools and techniques, applying what’s latest in trailer technology to deliver reliable results.

Core responsibilities

  • Complete scheduled maintenance and corrective repairs on semi trailers, including brake systems, suspension components, and electrical circuits.
  • Diagnose faults efficiently and troubleshoot mechanical issues to root cause.
  • Conduct safety and compliance inspections to ensure trailers meet industry standards.
  • Record all work performed with clear, accurate maintenance logs.
  • Partner with fellow technicians to hit deadlines and keep the fleet moving.
  • Maintain a clean, organized bay and follow safety protocols at all times.
  • Stay current on industry trends and emerging trailer technologies.

What you’ll bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in mechanics is a plus.
  • Proven mechanic experience, ideally with semi trailers or other heavy‑duty vehicles.
  • Solid grasp of mechanical systems and diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a team setting.
  • Keen problem‑solving ability and strong attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including overtime when required.

Why you’ll thrive here

Join a tight‑knit crew that values teamwork, a safety‑first mindset, and craftsmanship. If a fast‑paced environment and hands‑on problem solving motivate you, you’ll feel right at home.
