Commercial Vehicle Driving Adjunct Instructor Opportunity

Tallahassee State College is excited to announce openings for the position of Commercial Vehicle Driving Full-time Instructor in the Division of Workforce Development. We're looking for someone who shares our commitment to fostering a vibrant campus community.

What You'll Do

As a Commercial Vehicle Driving Instructor, the day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Provide instruction, service and support of college policies and procedures, along with opportunities for professional development. • Work with the students and other Commercial Vehicle Driving educational staff to assist students with academic and career plan. • Coordinate maintenance of truck and trailer records, scheduling maintenance, and maintaining vehicle registrations. • Assist, when needed, in the recruitment of students and marketing of the program.

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking a candidate who brings not only technical expertise but also a passion for education and student success. Our ideal candidate must:

• High school diploma or its equivalent. • At least three (3) years of full-time tractor-trailer truck driving experience with at least one of the three (3) years within the last 24 months. (Commercial vehicle driving training instruction may substitute for years of experience) • Preference will be given to CDL holders with endorsements. • Possess a current State of Florida Class 'A' License. • Possess Knowledge of and experience with tractor-trailer truck driving principles and applications; Clean & safe driving record; Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to keep accurate & thorough records • Skilled in organization of tasks and responsive follow-through; Prior history of commercial vehicle instruction/training preferred.

In addition to the minimum qualifications listed for the positions, applicants must be able to work in any clinical settings. All prospective faculty are expected to demonstrate the following characteristics:

• Commitment to student retention and success • Commitment to development and assessment of student learning • Use of technology and innovative approaches to enhance teaching and learning, including distance learning and alternative delivery systems • Willingness to support a diverse population of learners inside and beyond the classroom • Ability to work in a participatory and collegial setting
