The Staff Pad has partnered with a leading commercial roofing and building envelope contractor to identify an experienced Commercial Waterproofing Estimator to join its growing team in Saginaw, Texas.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced estimator who enjoys solving complex building envelope challenges, developing strong client relationships, and playing a critical role in winning profitable commercial projects.

What You'll Do

Estimating & Preconstruction

  • Prepare accurate estimates from construction drawings, specifications, field measurements, site visits, photographs, and other project documentation
  • Review plans and specifications to determine project scope, constructability, labor requirements, equipment, and material quantities
  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for:
    • Below-grade waterproofing & plaza deck systems
    • Air barriers, sealants & joint systems
    • Fluid-applied coatings & building envelope waterproofing systems
  • Identify inconsistencies, omissions, and constructability concerns within bid documents
  • Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and vendor pricing
  • Develop detailed project budgets and competitive bid proposals
  • Maintain organized estimating files and bid documentation

Business Development & Client Relations

  • Prepare and submit professional proposals and bid packages
  • Build relationships with owners, architects, engineers, general contractors, consultants, and property managers
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, client presentations, and project walkthroughs
  • Identify new business opportunities and support strategic growth initiatives
  • Recommend value engineering opportunities and alternative waterproofing solutions
  • Assist with contract negotiations to secure profitable work

Project Support

  • Partner closely with Project Managers to ensure a smooth transition from estimating through project execution
  • Review awarded projects for scope, pricing assumptions, scheduling, and budget accuracy
  • Assist with change order pricing and ongoing cost analysis
  • Support contract review, project closeout documentation, and warranty administration
  • Monitor project performance against original estimates

Team Collaboration

  • Attend estimating, operations, and sales meetings
  • Stay current on waterproofing products, installation methods, and industry trends
  • Help mentor junior estimators as needed
  • Collaborate with operations leadership to prioritize bidding opportunities

What We're Looking For

Experience

  • 5+ years of estimating experience within commercial waterproofing, building envelope, restoration, commercial roofing, or related construction trades
  • Experience working directly with owners, architects, engineers, general contractors, and subcontractors
  • Experience preparing detailed quantity takeoffs and comprehensive project estimates
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, contracts, and construction documents

Additional Skills & Attributes

  • Strong understanding of commercial waterproofing systems and building envelope assemblies
  • Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods and sequencing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and construction estimating software
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites as needed
