We are looking for a hands-on and passionate Commis Chef to Join Heartland Hotel Haast on the lovely West Coast!

Hotel: Heartland Hotel Haast

Location: West Coast - 26 Haast-Jackson Bay Road, Haast

Employment Type: Full-time, permanent position

Hours of Work: Guaranteed 30 hours per week, on a rotating roster, including weekends.

Pay Rate: $26.50 - $28.00 per hour

Join our kitchen team. As an integral part of the kitchen operation, you'll work with fresh local ingredients, gain hands-on experience, and be part of a supportive crew delivering quality dining experiences.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing, cooking, and presentation of high-quality dishes
• Ensuring that all food is served and stored at the correct temperature to meet hotel standards and kitchen guidelines.
• Clean and sanitise work areas, equipment, utensils and dishes.
• Follow all sanitation and hygienic food handling procedures.
• Support the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in daily kitchen tasks.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• 1-2 years relevant experience in a similar role
• A certificate in Cookery preferred
• A current Food Handling Certificate
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
