Commissary Technician, Black Beauty Ranch

The hourly range for this position is $16.75 - 21.75, plus full benefits. Salary offers will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, skills, training and education.

Humane World for Animals, a global leader in animal advocacy and protection, is seeking a Commissary Technician for our Black Beauty Ranch (BBR) in Murchison, Texas. In this position you will provide care to the animals at Black Beauty Ranch by preparing diets and maintaining food inventory.

Responsibilities:

Prepares feed in a specific and appropriate manner, and maintains prescribed diet for animals, ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are upheld at Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch;Orders and maintains food inventory. Rotates stock to ensure freshness. Reports shortages or discrepancies in inventory;Cleans, sanitizes and provides daily upkeep of the commissary, warehouse, and associated areas. Recognize signs of pest infestation and follow guidelines to prevent contamination;Work closely with vet staff and other departments to ensure dietary needs are met;Train, assist, and oversee work of volunteers/interns and ensure their safety while performing duties;Maintain accurate records including but not limited to food inventory, diet changes, equipment temperatures;Maintain area compliance with all local, state, federal, and international regulations (USDA, GFAS, etc.);Follow all internal safety guidelines;Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Must have or be able to obtain and maintain up-to-date TB test;Willing and able to work a flexible schedule;Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook);Strong written and verbal communication skills;Attention to detail and commitment to excellence demonstrated by the delivery of quality and timely outcomes;Strong interpersonal skills are necessary;Strong interest in animal protection issues preferred.
