Job Description:

We are looking for responsible, dedicated and professional level 3 security officers for several Lancaster ISD elementary schools. The primary responsibility of the Armed Security Officer is to maintain a safe and secure environment for students and staff at various elementary schools within the ISD.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the safety of students, staff, and visitors on the premises
• Maintain vigilant attention and patrol the property
• Maintain a visible presence to deter unlawful actions
• Respond to emergencies quickly and professionally, escalating to local law enforcement as necessary
• Utilize security equipment and tools to maintain law and order
• Conduct investigations and prepare incident reports
• Assist with evacuations, lock-downs, and other emergency procedures
• Provide first aid assistance as required
• Coordinate with school administration, staff, and local law enforcement agencies
• Comply with all legal and organizational regulations regarding armed security

Requirements:

• MUST HAVE CURRENT LEVEL III COMMISSIONED SECURITY LICENSE IN HAND
• Must pass criminal background check and drug screen
• High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Minimum of 21 years of age
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a security officer, preferably in an educational environment
• Trained and certified in CPR and First Aid, preferred
• Able to make quick decisions in high-stress situations
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must have a professional appearance and demeanor
• Must be able to fulfill attendance requirements, meaning being prepared and on time each shift
• Must be responsible and reliable
• Must be physically fit and able to continually stand and walk for extended periods of time & climb stairs repeatedly to reach the assigned areas
• Must be able to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds at all times
• Must work well, be polite, professional, and courteous with the customer and public
• Must be able to read and adhere to written and oral instructions
• Officer must have a working "Smart Phone" and have the ability to download and use apps.
