We're partnering with a nationally recognized engineering consulting firm seeking a Commissioning Engineer / Commissioning Agent II to support the testing, validation, and optimization of critical electrical systems across mission critical, healthcare, pharmaceutical, laboratory, and industrial facilities.

This role offers a balance of office and field work where you'll collaborate directly with clients, contractors, equipment vendors, and design engineers while supporting commissioning activities on-site.

What You'll Do
- Develop and execute pre-functional and functional testing procedures.
- Perform commissioning and validation of electrical systems.
- Review construction documents, specifications, equipment submittals, and control sequences.
- Conduct field inspections and verify installed systems.
- Observe equipment startup and coordinate with contractors and vendors.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and assist in resolving commissioning issues.
- Prepare daily field reports and commissioning documentation.
- Collect and analyze system performance data.
- Assist with due diligence studies, feasibility assessments, and gap analyses.
- Coordinate commissioning activities using Facility Grid and industry best practices.
- Support project teams from construction through final owner turnover.

Who We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- EIT/FE certification required
- 18+ months of hands-on commissioning, startup, validation, troubleshooting, or electrical systems experience
- Experience with mission critical, industrial, pharmaceutical, laboratory, healthcare, or power generation facilities preferred
- Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems and applicable codes
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with ASHRAE commissioning guidelines
- BCxA or PECI commissioning experience
- Facility Grid experience
- LEED project exposure
- Electrical testing and startup experience
- Commissioning documentation and reporting
