Data Center Commissioning Engineer (CxE)Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In this role, you will be part of a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles to support all AWS data centers. You will work on the highest standards for safety and security while delivering capacity at the lowest possible cost.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport vendors, contractors, and other teams involved in the construction and commissioning of systems such as medium and low‑voltage power systems, generators, UPS, HVAC (Air Handlers/Exhaust Fans/VFD), chilled water systems, BMS, EPMS, testing and balancing, pumps and hydronic systems.Provide testing and validation oversight of AWS data center electrical and mechanical infrastructure.Review design documents, lead Factory Witness Testing (FWT), and manage third‑party commissioning vendors for onsite pre‑functional, functional, and integrated systems testing.Take ownership of project success by diving deep to resolve technical issues and having bias for action to address ever‑changing schedule and coordination demands onsite.Communicate lessons learned and collaborate on program improvements.Conduct multi‑discipline input into scheduling, test script development, design, and planning of projects.Audit activities to ensure compliance with environmental, quality, and safety requirements.Provide comprehensive weekly reporting of status of all ongoing projects and lessons learned.A Day in the LifeOn a typical project, you work across AWS engineering, capacity delivery, operations, and contractor teams to coordinate site activities, prioritize tasks, and ensure each issue has a clear path to resolution. You manage the commissioning vendor to identify issues, determine criticality, propose solutions, and document findings. If project turnover is at risk, you will elevate the issue to appropriate stakeholders.
