Commissioning Engineering Technician - Data Center Projects

Overview

We are seeking Commissioning Engineering Technicians to support data center projects across the country. In this role, you will assist with startup, testing, validation, and troubleshooting of critical electrical, mechanical, and control systems to ensure they operate as designed. This is a long-term contract opportunity supporting multiple projects, offering the chance to gain experience in some of the fastest-growing data center environments in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Perform commissioning, startup, and functional testing of data center systems.
• Conduct I/O checkout, point-to-point verification, and system validation.
• Troubleshoot controls, electrical, and mechanical systems during commissioning activities.
• Review drawings, sequences of operation, and technical documentation.
• Support Building Management Systems (BMS), SCADA, and control systems testing.
• Work closely with engineers, contractors, and project teams to resolve issues and maintain project schedules.
• Document test results, deficiencies, and system performance throughout the commissioning process.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in commissioning, controls, building automation, or related technical fields.
• Experience working in data centers, mission-critical facilities, industrial plants, or similar environments.
• Familiarity with BMS, SCADA, PLCs, or other control systems.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
• Experience performing I/O checkout, system testing, and troubleshooting.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
