Develop a Site Risk Assessment to document all high risk construction and commissioning activities and to formalize the processes of circuit isolation and restoration in a manner that ensures no unintended operations of station equipment and protection systems and personnel safetyMake certain all applicable tests and/or commissioning activities are performed on every piece of equipment or system in accordance with planning and project documents, as well as all test results are acceptable and permanently recorded, filed and distributed properlyDevelop detailed test reports of various types of electrical equipment. Review and approve detailed test reports of various types of electrical equipmentRequirementsA Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Electrical or Power Systems preferred) from an accredited school or University with a minimum of 3+ years related experience with testing and commissioning services for major Electric Utilities, including protective relays OR An Associate of Science degree with at least 4+ years of utility testing & commissioning experience OR Journeyman Apprentice Program, US Army Prime Power School Graduate/ Training or Navy Nuclear Program Graduate with 5+ years of utility testing and commissioning experienceDemonstrated ability to both read and understand construction and manufacturer's drawings and specifications as well as schematic diagramsStrong knowledge of (or the ability to learn) electrical protection systems, including relay communication; Basic understanding of (or the ability to learn) AC and DC schematics, wiring and drawings, one line and three line interconnection diagramsPrior professional experience in (or the ability to learn quickly) medium and high voltage substation and power plant equipment. Perform basic apparatus testing and interpret test results with supervision.Solid testing and commissioning knowledge of (or the ability to learn quickly) substation utility protection and control circuits. Perform commissioning activities and interpret results with supervision.
