WHAT YOU’LL DO

This role is responsible for the final testing and commissioning of complexed Audio-Visual systems during and post build. This position will also provide technical/management leadership on major tasks or technology assignments as well as establish goals and plans that meet project objectives. You’ll work closely with the Project Manager to provide documented test result from system testing and commissioning.

 

Day-To-Day Responsibilities: 

  • Read and interpret audiovisual schematics, architectural/construction drawings, and related system documentation 
  • Review project Scope of Work (SOW) to verify system functionality, quality, and completeness of installation 
  • Test point-to-point functionality of audio, video, control, and networked AV systems 
  • Commission, troubleshoot, and validate integrated AV systems across control, DSP, video, and networked systems 
  • Support field installation, upload, download, and validation of control system programs including Q-SYS, Extron, Crestron, and AMX 
  • Make minor programming changes under the direction of a programmer or engineer 
  • Write, modify, and troubleshoot DSP files as required to support system performance objectives 
  • Operate and configure audio mixers, amplifiers, and related audio system components 
  • Fine tune and optimize audio systems including DSP configuration, gain structure, equalization, and loudspeaker tuning using Smart audio tuning tools as applicable 
  • Configure IP addressable devices and establish communication across control, AV, and networked media systems 
  • Configure and troubleshoot Dante audio networks as required 
  • Support setup, testing, and troubleshooting of IPTV, video wall processing, broadcast, video production, and DMX lighting systems as required 
  • Support commissioning and validation of camera tracking and presenter automation systems including 1Beyond, VisionSuite, and Seervision 
  • Perform client training, demonstrations, and final job documentation as needed 
  • Act as a customer liaison in the absence of the Project Manager 
  • Create, track, and complete project punch list items 
  • Travel to various job sites as required 
 

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

 

Must-Haves:

  • Communicate and interact with internal employees, clients, and colleagues in a professional and timely manner  
  • Proven business writing skills  
  • Proficient with test and calibration equipment  
  • Ability to support user acceptance testing  
  • Working knowledge of control system platforms including Q-SYS, Crestron, Extron, and AMX 
  • Working knowledge of DSP platforms including Q-SYS and Biamp, as well as Dante audio networking 
  • Ability to perform minor programming, configuration changes, and troubleshooting under the direction of engineering or programming teams 
  • Knowledge of advanced signal flow for audio, video, control, and networked AV systems 
  • Understanding of IP networking principles and configuration of networked AV devices 
  • Advanced PC proficiency  
  • Effective communication and interaction with employees, clients, and colleagues  
  • Excellent multitasking capabilities while adapting to changing priorities  
  • Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines  
  • Solid organizational skills and excellent attention to detail 
  • Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards  
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent  

 

Nice-To-Haves:

  • Formal education in Electronics or related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of AV Installation experience preferred
  • A four-year degree or military experience may be considered in place of job experience
  • Experience with Enterprise VC solutions (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Bluejeans, Cisco Telepresence, etc.) both hardware and software
  • AVIXA General CTS (Certified Technical Specialist) is preferred
