ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop a qualified low cost supply base to support current and anticipated automotive program sourcing requirements.
Develop rationale and provide support for supplier selection.
Participate in or lead team in strategy development, cost savings efforts, minority business strategy, and associated reporting.
Support Launch team through Supplier Selection, Statement of Work Negotiation, and Make vs Buy analysis.
Support Production team when quality issues arise with components from supply base.
Coordinate volume discount & planned productivity discounts with supply base.
Other duties as assigned.

Must have good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with Purchasing, Accounting, Supply Chain Management departments, and other plant and office personnel. Attention to detail and accuracy. Must have good computer skills with a working knowledge of automotive experience, technical knowledge and/or experience in the metals industry and technology. Must understand Good Communication, Negotiation, and Computer Skills in a manufacturing environment.
