Responsibilities - Project Manage each of the Identified initiatives and as more initiatives are identified
- Work closely with the business to deliver cost savings
- Serve as a Project Manager to support the Indirect Procurement Category Manager with responsibility for supplier management, data analysis, stakeholder support, market research and request for proposals.
- Interface with Category Lead to support their strategic objectives as well as to identify and prioritize cost-savings and efficiency opportunities.
- Respond to supplier service and/or quality issues to mitigate negative impact on the company.
- Support sourcing strategies to achieve lowest total cost considering aggregation of standardization of services on a global basis.
- Monitor & improve existing prices and service levels. Identify and drive process improvements, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
- Lead cross-functional teams to identify, qualify, negotiate, catalog and implement suppliers for category of materials.

- Capture and implement Smith & Nephew business requirements in new supply contracts.
- Conduct auctions; facilitate supplier productivity projects; negotiate one-time and longer term contracts; Use Sourcing Tools (i.e. bid processes, e-auction, Low Cost Country) to drive deflation.
- Establish dashboard to track category spend, inflation/deflation, key projects. Implement projects to control new sources, off category and maverick buy.
- Harness vendor expertise, conduct due diligence on technology trends that provide solutions to meet the company's changing business requirements.
- Responsible for developing catalog content for items within the category including financials. Resolve supplier related issues for category items.
- Interface with business owner leaders and associated stakeholders to identify and prioritize opportunities. Respond to site sourcing issues.
- Work with other category managers and site Procurement to implement deflation projects to leverage buy across the company.
- Utilize Six Sigma, Lean and Kaizen tools to continuously improve sourcing processes and performance. Implement rigorous supplier scorecards to measure suppliers.
- Meet or exceed all budget deflation and productivity commitments for cross-business projects.
Experience & Knowledge Essential Experienced in Transportation/Supply Chain and Logistics Category.
Understands the Parcel/Freight Forwarding market and providers
In-depth knowledge of the EU/UK market in terms of Logistics providers.
10 Year work experience desired
Indepth knowledge of Ariba required.
