Commodity Manager

Location: Onsite in Oklahoma or Colorado (full-time)
Travel: Up to 30% 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead commodity strategy development and execution across assigned categories
  • Manage supplier selection, qualification, performance tracking, and corrective actions
  • Conduct supplier business reviews, audits, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, Operations, Program Management, and Finance to align sourcing with program needs
  • Support new product introductions (NPI), design-to-cost, and value engineering efforts
  • Drive cost reduction through negotiations, supplier consolidation, and process improvements
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks (capacity, lead time, obsolescence, geopolitical factors)
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace/defense standards, including export controls and quality requirements
  • Lead and develop a team of buyers, analysts, or sourcing specialists

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
  • 5+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience (manufacturing experience preferred)
  • 2+ years of leadership or team management experience
  • Experience with commodity strategy and supplier management across multiple sites
  • Knowledge of aerospace/defense industry standards (AS9100, NADCAP preferred)
  • Strong background in supplier performance, negotiations, and cost reduction
  • APICS or ISM certification a plus (or willingness to obtain)
