We are on the hunt for a strategic expert to oversee the acquisition of essential and indirect materials. This role is paramount to our company's ability to secure cost-efficient sourcing, ensure consistent supply flow, and synchronize with our organizational goals.
Ideal candidates should have profound experience in the plastics sector, particularly with resins, TiO2, carbon black, and chemical additives. Success in this position will involve working collaboratively with multiple departments such as Procurement, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Quality, Sales, Technical Services, and Operations, ensuring supplier excellence, cost reductions, and supply chain optimization.
Key duties include managing procurement requirements for multiple U.S. facilities, maintaining comprehensive purchase and vendor data, conducting in-depth market analysis, leading supplier selection and negotiations, and crafting commodity strategies for improved purchasing power and supply reliability. Developing and maintaining strong supplier alliances, supporting budget planning, engaging in cost reduction initiatives, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to manage supply risks and enhance supplier performance are essential to this role.
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
- Comprehensive knowledge in plastics and chemicals purchasing.
- Proficiency in managing supplier relationships and strategic sourcing.
- Strong grasp of global supply chain drivers.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational abilities.
- Proficient in interpreting technical documents and blueprints.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Power BI is a plus.
- Capable of handling multiple projects independently.
- Awareness of market trends, industry networks, and purchasing-related contract law.
- Ready to travel when required.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Chemistry, or similar field preferred.
- Over 5 years in procurement, ideally in plastics or chemicals.
