Description

Payrate: $28.00- $28.00/hr.
 
Summary
The Buyer/Planner is responsible for supporting material planning, inventory management, and procurement activities to ensure the timely availability of materials required to meet production, sales, and service demands. This role works closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders to manage purchase orders, monitor delivery schedules, maintain inventory accuracy, and support continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain process.
 
Responsibilities
  • Analyze daily material requirements and determine purchasing needs based on demand schedules.
  • Create and execute purchase orders to ensure the timely availability of materials.
  • Maintain accurate delivery information for open purchase orders through supplier acknowledgements and ongoing communication.
  • Expedite material deliveries as needed to address shortages and support production requirements.
  • Monitor and communicate the status of material shortages impacting production, sales, and service operations.
  • Review and manage inventory stocking levels to support targeted service and inventory objectives.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to support inventory plans and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Track supplier performance and maintain accurate records related to material availability and delivery commitments.
  • Update backlog status reports on a regular basis and communicate expected delivery timelines to Customer Service for customer orders.
  • Review inventory levels and recommend appropriate disposition of excess and obsolete materials.
  • Support inventory optimization efforts by identifying opportunities to improve material availability and inventory efficiency.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of service performance exceptions and implement corrective actions to improve processes.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records to support operational requirements.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure alignment between material planning and customer demand requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on procurement, planning, inventory control, and service performance.
 
Education Requirements
  • Associate degree, bachelor's degree, or equivalent education is preferred if required by the Company.
 
Experience Requirements
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in purchasing, planning, inventory management, supply chain, materials management, or a related field.
  • Experience working with suppliers and managing purchase orders.
  • Experience supporting inventory planning and material availability in a production or operational environment.

Pay Transparency: The typical base pay for this role across the U.S. is: $28.00 - $28.00 /hour. Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime at a rate of 1.5 times the base hourly rate for all hours worked in excess of 40 in a work week, or as required by state or local law. Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education and experience. Full-time employees are eligible to select from different benefits packages.
