Aurora Location: The Epidemiologist (Communicable Disease) promotes individual and population health by leading epidemiological activities and initiatives for the Department with particular focus on communicable diseases. Responsibilities include: performing professional epidemiology by collecting, organizing, analyzing, interpreting and disseminating epidemiological data relevant to communicable disease control in Kane County; designing and/or implementing public health surveillance systems and all related activities; and working closely with staff across the Department to protect Kane residents from communicable diseases.
Requirements:
- Master"s degree in science or in public health with a focus in epidemiology. Doctor Degree in Public Health, Epidemiology or Biostatistics preferred.
- Three (3) years of public health experience preferred.
- Valid Illinois driver"s license; current certificate of vehicle insurance, and access to reliable transportation to all assigned work locations.
- Knowledge of epidemiology, biostatistics and public health surveillance methods, tools and techniques with particular knowledge of communicable disease control.
- Demonstrates qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis
- Advance computer skills
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
