Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled, professional, and results-oriented Communication Specialist to develop, coordinate, and manage internal and external communications that support organizational objectives, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and promote consistent messaging across the organization.

The Communication Specialist will work closely with leadership, department heads, employees, clients, partners, and other stakeholders to develop clear and effective communications across digital, written, and virtual channels. The ideal candidate will have exceptional writing and editing abilities, strong interpersonal skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly to diverse audiences.

This is a remote position requiring strong self-management, collaboration, organization, and proficiency with digital communication and collaboration platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Develop Communication Strategies

  • Develop and implement communication strategies aligned with organizational goals, initiatives, and business priorities.
  • Coordinate communication plans for internal programs, organizational changes, projects, and strategic initiatives.
  • Ensure communication messages are clear, consistent, accurate, and aligned with organizational standards.

Create and Manage Content

  • Draft, edit, and proofread emails, announcements, newsletters, presentations, reports, internal communications, website content, and other materials.
  • Develop communication materials for employees, clients, partners, leadership, and external audiences.
  • Adapt messaging and tone to meet the needs of different audiences and communication channels.
  • Maintain consistent organizational voice, terminology, and messaging across communication materials.

Internal Communications

  • Support internal communications related to company initiatives, policies, organizational updates, employee programs, and business developments.
  • Prepare executive and leadership communications, announcements, and presentations.
  • Coordinate company-wide communications and ensure information is distributed accurately and on schedule.
  • Help improve employee engagement through effective communication programs and initiatives.

External Communications

  • Support communications with clients, vendors, partners, and other external stakeholders.
  • Develop professional correspondence and informational materials that represent the organization appropriately.
  • Coordinate external messaging in collaboration with relevant departments and leadership.
  • Ensure external communications are accurate, timely, and consistent with organizational objectives.

Digital Communication

  • Manage communication through email, collaboration platforms, intranet systems, newsletters, and other digital channels.
  • Coordinate virtual meetings, presentations, announcements, and communication campaigns.
  • Monitor communication platforms and ensure important information reaches the appropriate audiences.
  • Recommend improvements to digital communication processes and tools.

Research and Information Management

  • Research industry trends, communication practices, audience preferences, and emerging communication technologies.
  • Gather information from internal departments and subject-matter experts to develop accurate communications.
  • Organize communication resources, templates, messaging guides, and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain appropriate records of communication activities and materials.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with Human Resources, Marketing, Operations, Sales, Technology, Finance, and leadership teams.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to gather information, confirm requirements, and ensure communication objectives are met.
  • Build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as a communication resource for departments requiring support with messaging and content development.

Executive Communications

  • Prepare executive-level presentations, briefing materials, reports, announcements, and correspondence.
  • Translate complex business information into clear and concise messages for leadership and broader audiences.
  • Support leadership with communication planning for organizational initiatives and business changes.

Communication Measurement

  • Monitor the effectiveness of communication campaigns and initiatives.
  • Track engagement, response rates, readership, participation, and other relevant communication metrics.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations based on communication performance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve communication effectiveness and stakeholder engagement.

Support Organizational Change

  • Develop communication materials supporting organizational changes, new initiatives, technology implementations, process improvements, and policy updates.
  • Help employees and stakeholders understand changes, timelines, expectations, and business impacts.
  • Coordinate communication activities throughout change initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, English, Business, or a related field.
  • 3–7 years of relevant experience in corporate communications, internal communications, public relations, content development, marketing communications, or a related discipline.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong editing, proofreading, and content-development abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple communication projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and digital collaboration tools.
  • Experience working with remote teams and virtual communication platforms.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in corporate or organizational communications.
  • Experience developing executive communications and leadership presentations.
  • Experience supporting organizational change and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with communication analytics, digital engagement platforms, and content-management systems.
  • Experience with internal newsletters, intranet communications, or employee communication platforms.
  • Experience working in a fully remote or distributed organization.
  • Knowledge of communication strategy, content planning, and audience engagement practices.

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated annual compensation range for this position is $85,000–$115,000, commensurate with experience, qualifications, skills, and overall fit for the role.

Work Environment

This is a fully remote position. The Communication Specialist will work from an approved remote location and is expected to maintain a professional, productive, and secure home-office environment.

The successful candidate must be comfortable working independently while collaborating with colleagues through email, video conferencing, instant messaging, project-management platforms, and other digital communication tools.

Regular virtual meetings, communication planning sessions, and cross-functional collaboration may be required. Employees are expected to remain accessible during established working hours and meet all assigned deadlines and performance expectations.
