Job Summary/Basic Function

The Department of Communication Studies at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#130130) in Organization Communication at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2025.

The successful candidate is expected to have primary expertise in organizational communication and be able to teach concentration courses such as Introduction to Organizational Communication, Instructional Communication for Human Resource Trainers, Organizational Communication Consulting and Auditing, Interviewing, Communication in the Global Workplace, or Women, Leadership and Communication.

The successful candidate will also teach core courses in the major, such as Communication Theory, Quantitative Methods, or Critical Methods, and will be encouraged to develop classes in their area of expertise. Additionally, the department is currently in the process of creating a graduate program in Organizational Communication, and the candidate will have an opportunity to develop the program and curriculum.

Required Education

A terminal degree in communication or a closely related field is required by the appointment date.
