The program is research informed, aligned with best practices, and will be engaged in a rigorous evaluation led by some of the most respected human services researchers in the country today. This position will contribute to Public Strategies mission of – helping systems, organizations and individuals reach their full potential while maximizing the public good – and by building and fostering strong foundational relationships with community service providers and others committed to making a significant, measurable and sustainable difference.The Bi-Lingual Communication Coach works one-on-one to help couples participating in Family Expectations (FE) practice the Speaker Listener Technique during class. The position is responsible for creating a warm and collaborative environment in which couples feel at ease to practice the skills.Essential Job FunctionsGreet couples and introduce selfExplain the objective of the coaching session is to practice the Speaker-Listener technique and the approximate length of the coaching sessionCoach the couple in the correct use of the technique, giving equal time to both parentsAt the end of the session:Thank the couple for their work and remind them to speak to their Family Support Coaches (FSC), if additional assistance is needed with the skill they have learnedComplete a Communication Coach Feedback Form for each couple with whom they workedSubmit completed form(s) to a Family Expectations Educators (FEE)Other duties as assignedQualificationsEducation/TrainingHigh School diploma or equivalent, requiredSome college, preferredWill consider 4+ years work experience in lieu of degreeExperiencePrior experience working with Oklahoma Marriage Initiative (OMI) or Family Expectations (FE), a plusSkills, Knowledge, and AbilitiesAbility to work flexible hoursAbility to attend Communication Coach TrainingExcellent problem solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.A passion for education and the empowerment of others through knowledge.Ability to travel to different locations across the state as required.Essential Physical RequirementsSufficient mobility and strength to move about the facility.
