We are seeking a communications professional to provide temporary media relations support during parental leave coverage. This contractor will help manage day-to-day media engagement, develop messaging, and proactively identify and pitch stories that support business priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to incoming media inquiries and coordinate timely responses with oversight from media relations directors
- Develop and refine messaging, talking points, and media materials
- Identify proactive storytelling opportunities and pitch relevant media outlets
- Support media monitoring and issue management as needed
- Partner with internal stakeholders to gather information, complete final materials, and collaborate on strategies and execution to support business goals
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of communications and media relations experience
- Proven experience engaging and managing media and building relationships with journalists on behalf of companies and organizations
- Strong writing, messaging, and storytelling skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

- Duration: Approximately 3 months
- Hours: 25–30 hours per week
