Advertised Job Summary
Under general supervision, supports communication and public relations activities for the School of Medicine-Columbia, South Carolina Center for Rural and Primary Healthcare. Collaborates closely with the Centers directors, operations manager and program managers to support ongoing Center and project communications, public and stakeholder relations, and content development. Demonstrates commitment to conducting business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations. This position is established in support of expanded research activities.

Coordinates Center internal and external communication efforts. Development, implementation, evaluation and yearly review of center-wide communication plan to coordinate internal and external communication. Supports Center and program-specific goals with development of tailored communication materials and content, through use of appropriate software and tools. Supports disseminating program-specific results through appropriate communication channels, media outlets, and social media. Reports progress on efforts to the Director.

Coordinates Center marketing efforts and content development. Responsible for helping gather information, coordinating contractors supporting writing, graphic design, and video/photography. Creating branded materials, assisting with email marketing and other communication tactics including print, electronic marketing and social media. Supports content development for publication, including but not limited to social media, center publications, and annual report. Updates the center website. Reports progress on these programs to the Center Director, as needed.

Coordinates public and stakeholder relations for Center, including developing and disseminating Center specific information to existing stakeholders and identifying new partners. Coordinates media requests. Supports yearly reporting and presentations provided to various stakeholders.

Supports ongoing Center branding efforts and ensures branding is incorporated throughout Center. Coordinates with any external contractors for dissemination needs. Maintains Center distribution lists, including collecting and updating participants as appropriate.
