Shrewsbury Public Schools is currently accepting applications for a Communications Coordinator for the District Office. This is a full year-round position with paid sick, personal, and vacation time, and includes health and other insurance options. This is a Town Retirement-eligible position.

Position Summary Shrewsbury Public Schools seeks an innovative and collaborative Communications Coordinator to lead the district''s communications, community engagement, and public information efforts. Reporting directly to the Superintendent, the Communications Coordinator develops and implements strategic internal and external communications that promote transparency, strengthen community trust, and celebrate the achievements of students and staff. The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer, storyteller, and relationship builder who can manage multiple priorities while supporting district leadership through clear, timely, and engaging communications.
Primary Responsibilities
Qualifications
Required Bachelor''s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field. Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or a related field. Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills. Experience managing websites, social media platforms, and digital communications. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
Preferred Experience in public education or municipal government. Experience with crisis communications and media relations. Knowledge of website accessibility standards and digital communication best practices. Bilingual or multilingual skills. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills. Excellent judgment, discretion, and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, website content management systems, and social media platforms. Ability to learn new technologies and communications tools.
Reports To: Superintendent of Schools Work Year: Twelve (12) Months, Non-Bargaining Salary: $70,000-$85,000, commensurate with experience
