Summary:
The Communications Student Employee will assist in creating and implementing communication strategies to enhance the department's outreach and engagement efforts. This position provides hands-on experience in content creation, social media management, and public relations while fostering career-ready skills in communication, adaptability, and digital literacy.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist in creating and scheduling social media content across various platforms to engage target audiences.
Write, edit, and proofread content for newsletters, press releases, and other communications materials.
Collaborate with team members to develop effective communication campaigns that align with department goals.
Monitor and analyze the performance of communication efforts, using tools like social media analytics and surveys to inform future strategies.
Support event promotion by designing flyers, drafting announcements, and coordinating outreach efforts.
Help ensure all materials align with Maryville's branding and communication standards.
Assist with photography, videography, and editing for department projects.

Minimum Qualifications:
Familiarity with social media platforms and their best practices (e.g., Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn).
Experience with design tools such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or Illustrator is a plus.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Attention to detail and a creative mindset.
A passion for communication and a desire to learn and grow in the field.
