Job Overview

• We are seeking an experienced Communications Lead III to drive internal and external communication strategies supporting major business and IT transformation initiatives, including AMI meter and system implementations. This role will partner with leadership, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders to ensure clear, consistent, and engaging messaging that enhances employee engagement and customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Communications Leadership:

• Lead communications planning for major IT and business transformation initiatives.
• Develop and execute communication strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Advise project leaders and executives on communication timing, strategy, and change impacts.
• Monitor communication effectiveness, stakeholder feedback, and adoption risks.

Content Development & Messaging:

• Translate complex technical changes into clear, actionable messaging for employees and customers.
• Oversee creation and delivery of multi-channel communications including:
• • Emails
  • Intranet updates
  • Toolkits
  • Signage
  • Alerts
  • Presentations
  • Scripts and executive materials

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Partner with IT, HR, Corporate Communications, Operations, and Leadership teams.
• Ensure messaging aligns with enterprise standards, brand voice, and change management practices.
• Coordinate reviews and approvals with internal stakeholders.

AMI Program Support:

• Support AMI meter deployment communications and customer notifications.
• Ensure communications comply with approved regulatory communication plans.
• Work closely with deployment operations and ombudsman teams.

Vendor & Budget Management:

• Monitor vendor/mail-house performance and implement improvements.
• Manage communications budgets, timelines, and project plans.
• Coordinate with agencies and freelance contractors on deadlines and deliverables.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or related field.
• 6+ years of corporate communications experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to simplify technical concepts into compelling messaging.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• AP Style proficiency.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• IT transformation project experience.
• Change management / change communications experience.
• Technical writing background.
• Leadership or team management experience.
• Utility or AMI project experience.

Work Environment:

• Primarily remote with occasional office travel.
• Collaborative team setting with deadline-driven work.
• Primarily seated role with optional standing/walking.
