As a startup-style team within FedEx, DataWorks monetizes more than two petabytes of transportation data daily and operates with the speed, agility, and innovation mindset of a high-growth technology organization.The Communications Lead – Internal & Executive Communications will own the team’s internal voice and serve as a strategic communications partner to leadership. This role is responsible for executive messaging, organizational communications, leadership presentations, announcements, employee engagement content, and board-level materials. The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer who can synthesize complex information into concise, compelling messaging for multiple audiences.This role will partner closely with the Communications Principal and cross-functional stakeholders across product, analytics, strategy, and leadership teams.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute internal communications strategies aligned to DataWorks business prioritiesDraft executive communications including leadership emails, talking points, presentations, announcements, and board communicationsTranslate complex technical and business concepts into clear, engaging messaging for broad audiencesSupport organizational storytelling and employee engagement initiativesPartner with senior leaders to develop communication plans for strategic initiatives and change management effortsEnsure consistency of messaging, tone, and brand voice across communicationsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to gather insights and develop communication materialsProvide editorial review, messaging guidance, and communications support across the organizationSupport high-volume executive writing and rapid-response communications needsCollaborate with the Communications Principal on external context and executive-level contentMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree/equivalentFive (5) years of directly related communications experienceDemonstrated experience in executive communications, corporate communications, or organizational communicationsExceptional writing, editing, grammar, and presentation abilities across channels (email, briefs, narratives, etc.)Experience supporting senior executives and managing high-volume communication deliverablesAbility to simplify complex technical or business topics for non-technical audiencesStrong relationship management, organizational, and project management skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience with design (Photoshop, Canva, etc.) and compelling narrative presentationsExperience in technology, data, analytics, consulting, or innovation-driven organizationsExperience creating communications for leadership teams and board-level audiencesFamiliarity with startup or agile work environmentsDomicile: This position is eligible for remote work and may be located anywhere within the United States, excluding AK, HI, and U.S. territories. However, if you live within the 50-mile radius of a campus, you will be required to work at a FedEx campus location several times per week.Compensation: Annual salary range: $96,000 – $144,000, based on national market data.
