We are seeking a communications/public relations professional to join BYU-Pathway Worldwide. As a communications manager, you will play a key role in connecting with students and other key audiences in meaningful ways to inspire action and build long-term relationships.
This is a strategic role for a skilled communicator who can shape messaging, create compelling content, and lead integrated communications efforts across multiple channels. The communications manager must be a strong writer and editor, an enthusiastic team-builder and collaborator, and a hands-on leader who helps support high-profile initiatives and builds a cohesive communications approach across the organization.
This full-time position typically works (Monday - Friday between the hours of 8 am - 5 pm). This position is hybrid with some on-site requirement. A qualified individual must be willing to come into the BYU-Pathway Worldwide headquarters in Salt Lake City 1-3 days per week, if required by the department manager.

Experience
- Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field
- 7 years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related role
- Experience engaging audiences from initial contact through long-term connection preferred
- Prior management experience preferred
Skills
- Exceptional writing and editing skills across multiple formats and audiences
- Experience with public relations, media relations, and digital storytelling
- Ability to use analytics and insights to inform communication strategies
- Highly collaborative approach with experience working across teams
- Comfortable supporting high-visibility projects and senior leadership
- Familiarity with communication and analytics tools (e.g., CRM platforms, social media insights, email marketing tools)

- Participate in and help coordinate an editorial board to ensure alignment, quality, and consistency across communications.
- Write, edit, and oversee high-quality content for executive communications, promotional initiatives, storytelling efforts, and digital communications.
- Serve as a primary writer and editor, providing guidance and feedback to contributors.
- Ensure messaging reflects BYU-Pathway's mission and resonates with global audiences.
- Develop and optimize content for multi-channel distribution, including social media, email journeys, web, and emerging digital platforms.
- Use analytics to improve performance and reach.
Drive Audience Engagement
- Develop communication strategies for diverse audiences including students, service missionaries, employees, executives, and alumni.
- Strengthen relationships through meaningful, targeted engagement.
- Design audience journeys that move individuals from awareness to long-term connection.
- Leverage communication tools to segment and personalize outreach.
- Support large-scale events and key communication initiatives.
Expand Visibility Through Public Relations and Partnerships
- Support media relations efforts, including story development and media coordination.
- Pitch stories to media outlets, influencers, and digital content creators.
- Prepare spokespeople for interviews, podcasts, and thought leadership opportunities.
- Monitor media coverage and audience sentiment to inform strategy.
- Help manage communications for initiatives involving high-profile individuals, partners, and public-facing events.
- Assist with crisis communications preparation and response, under the guidance of senior leaders.
Strengthen Internal Communications
- Lead internal communications that keep employees informed, aligned, and engaged.
- Support leadership messaging and internal channels.
- Measure engagement and continuously improve internal communication strategies.
Lead and Collaborate with Team
