Job Description:

The Communications Manager serves on the Beyond120 leadership team to direct a comprehensive, effective, and innovative communication strategy to engage and inspire a variety of audiences. This role assists the program to drive communication strategy development, message alignment, and communication implementation.

Key responsibilities of the position include:

  • Leading and executing a comprehensive communication strategy to amplify our experiential learning initiatives and highlight student success.
  • Overseeing brand management, ensuring all print, web, and multimedia content aligns with UF and CLAS branding standards and ADA accessibility requirements.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders including faculty, staff, students, and external partners to promote collaborations and cross‑campus opportunities.
  • Serving as executive editor and creative director for recruitment materials, event promotions, and digital projects, working closely with CLAS Communications and Advancement.
  • Supervising communications assistants (photographers, videographers, etc.) and coordinating with external vendors.
  • Preparing projects, proposals, annual reports, and executive communications as well as tracking communications metrics and maintaining a comprehensive archive.
  • Representing the program at college and university communication meetings and serving as a resource for student groups.
Expected Salary:

The salary is $62,000 - $68,000.

This is a TEAMS position—UF’s designation for staff roles—eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including paid leave, retirement plans, and health insurance. Learn more about TEAMS benefits here.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.

Preferred:
  • Ability to plan content development and distribution plans, managing workflow and implementing updates as needed.
  • Versatile team player who is organized, dependable and a self-starter.
  • Excellent writing, editing and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to maintain high levels of creativity in messaging and developing overall communications strategy.
  • Experience working with Salesforce, Suitable, GatorNetwork, and similar platforms.
  • Experience with project management platforms, content management and publication systems, including WordPress, and native social media management tools such as Buffer, Hootsuite and Sprout.
