Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Communications Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of communications that support HCA Healthcare’s Digital Transformation & Innovation (DT&I) priorities. The role is responsible for driving awareness and alignment across the organization by translating complex digital and innovation initiatives into clear, compelling messaging.

In partnership with Change Management, Stakeholder Engagement and Product teams, you will develop and manages communication plans that ensure consistency, reinforce key messages, and support business objectives. This role also serves as a strategic communications advisor, guiding teams on messaging, audience engagement, and channel effectiveness while ensuring alignment with brand standards.

The ideal candidate brings strong business acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence across all levels of the organization. They are highly organized, adaptable, and effective at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

This full-time position is based onsite at HCA Healthcare Corporate offices in Nashville, TN with direct reporting to the DT&I Director of Communications.

Job Responsibilities:

  • As a storyteller and innovator, execute communications strategy to support successful adoption of Digital Transformation & Innovation at HCA Healthcare.
  • Write, edit, and/or proofread DT&I product content and publications for both internal and external use to ensure that DT&I’s vision and strategy is consistently conveyed. Publications include but are not limited to newsletters, columns, articles, meeting recaps, presentations, advertorials, web content, social content, advertising materials, blogs, video scripts, etc.
  • Monitor key metrics for internal publications, social media platforms and other related communication channels.
  • Support DT&I department (domains/pods/products) projects and programs and ensures all communications are on brand, on message and an appropriate reflection of the enterprise brand
  • Contributor of content and management of DT&I Atlas Connect Intranet sites (includes familiarity with content management systems).
  • Provide support for video and photo shoots to obtain content for use in department, Innovation Location, and enterprise media efforts.
  • Help maintain DT&I’s media assets library (photo/video/audio/graphics) including organization of and connectivity to required consent forms.
  • Responsible for incorporating feedback by initiative leaders and managing and reviewing cycles and distribution in a timely matter for successful execution.
  • Develop positive, effective working relationships with internal teams, industry partners and key stakeholders.
  • Performs other duties as directed by management in supporting DT&I’s goals and objectives

AI and Digital Communications

  • Ensures AI and digital solutions are incorporated into DT&I communications activities, e.g., ChatGPT, PlayPlay video content generation, including collaboration with all associated teams, Responsible AI, etc
  • Reviews and makes recommendations for new AI and digital solutions with focus on expanding efforts and ability to achieve production of communications services far exceeding ability of existing team, maximizing resources and production efficiencies.

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Communications ins preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications is required
  • Experience leading product communications within a product development environment, translating complex product strategies and roadmaps into clear, audience-specific messaging aligned across cross-functional stakeholders is required
  • 7+ years of experience in communications, product communications, and/or a public relations agency environment is required
  • Accreditation in Public Relations is preferred
  • PROSCI certification is preferred
  • Exceptional written & oral communication skills, with an emphasis on quality and accuracy is required
  • Strong communications research background with proven metrics performance demonstrating successful communications plan development and execution
  • Self-starter/self-motivated and driven to exceed established goals.
  • Willingness to learn/be re-skilled in, embrace and offer guidance for AI-driven communications products
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with ability to pivot quickly to changing priorities (research, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
  • Ability to support and develop communications across diverse functional stakeholders while simultaneously managing multiple projects and initiatives.
  • Strong and innate attention to detail
