Communications Manager - Remote at UNFIJob OverviewThe Communications Manager supports the planning, execution, and measurement of ongoing associate-facing communications. This role drives internal engagement by identifying and leveraging the most effective channels and platforms. Responsibilities include developing and implementing 360-degree communications plans, sourcing story ideas, conducting interviews, and drafting copy for the Newsroom and social channels. As part of the editorial team, this individual delivers timely, always-on campaigns that align with the company's narrative and strategic priorities.Job ResponsibilitiesChannel Management & Engagement: Manage and optimize communication channels to drive engagement and continuously improve processes to enhance reach, impact, and efficiency.Strategy & Content Creation: Plan and execute 360-degree communications campaigns; source story ideas, draft copy, conduct interviews, and support internal programs and events, including town halls and engagement activities.Collaboration & Alignment: Partner with internal and external-facing teams to ensure consistent, aligned planning and messaging. Build strong, collaborative relationships with cross‑functional partners to meet audience needs and preferences.Measurement & Continuous Improvement: Monitor and evaluate communication effectiveness and make data-driven improvements. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve and innovate.Education & CertificationsBachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field (master's degree preferred).Experience5‑8 years of experience in a communications role, preferably in a complex, matrixed organization.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesExceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.Strong understanding of digital communication platforms and tools.Experience developing integrated communications plans and change/project management preferred.Experience creating video content for internal or external communications (storyboarding, scripting, production oversight; editing not required).Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.Experience with internal and external communications initiatives and best practices, including tailoring messaging for different audiences.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with design programs (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite), intranet platforms, and CMS tools is a plus.Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.Familiarity with monitoring and analyzing communication metrics to assess effectiveness and inform future strategies.Strategic mindset and comfortable working with ambiguity.Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision is not immediately available.Work EnvironmentRemote role. This position is classified as remote where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence.
