Our mission and values are described at the university site.Location: Augusta UniversityOur Health Sciences Campus: 1120 15th Street, Augusta, GA 30912Our Summerville Campus: 2500 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30904Job Summary This position is skilled emergency service work that involves receiving emergency and non-emergency requests for police assistance, determining the nature/urgency of calls, initiating police or other personnel action and maintaining close contact with responders to monitor and record the response and needed support requirements.Responsibilities Receive and respond properly to emergency and non-emergency calls from patrol officers, other law enforcement agencies, the general public and Augusta State University faculty/staff and students.Enter, view and retrieve vital information from the Police computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system, NCIC/GCIC system, Banner and other systems/programs.Follow proper policies and procedures when handling emergency and non-emergency calls.Check areas for unsecured buildings and offices; secure areas and file reports if needed; verify identification before admitting personnel; check alarmed areas and notify responsible personnel of any unusual circumstances.Perform all other related duties incidental to the work described herein.Required Qualifications Educational RequirementsHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized state or federal accredited organization.Preferred Qualifications Preferred Educational QualificationsKnowledge of Federal Communications Rules and RegulationsGA POST CertificationKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities Ability to maintain confidentialityExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databasesWorking knowledge of the current Augusta University policies and proceduresWorking knowledge of Georgia laws, regulations, and procedures concerning law enforcement dispatchingShift/Salary/Benefits Shift: Days/M-FPay Band: 3Salary: Minimum $16.54/hour - $18.79/hourSalary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the positionRecruitment Period: 7/23/25 - Until FilledBenefits for full-time employees and some part-time employees, including health/dental/life insurance, retirement options, vacation, sick leave, and holidaysTuition Assistance Program considered for full-time employees after six months of employmentConditions of Employment Background check required prior to startingCredit check for Positions of Trust or approved departmental Purchase Card usage if applicableMotor vehicle report if position requires driving an Augusta University vehicleFaculty hires may require verification of degrees and transcripts; foreign credentials may require evaluationProtect confidentiality and comply with cybersecurity and privacy policiesApplication and hiring process may include multiple steps and background checks, including driving record, references, credit history, criminal history, POST certification, CSA duties, etc.Other Information This position is also responsible for promoting a customer-friendly environment and providing superior service to patients, students, faculty, and employees.
