Communications Specialist

The Gathering Spot is looking to hire a Communications Specialist within the marketing department reporting to the Marketing Manager to be responsible for member communications. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Drafting targeted communications to members regarding member events, club updates, and member benefits including but not limited to:
  • Email
  • Push Notifications
  • Text Messaging
• Managing Email Lists - updating, segmenting, cleaning
• Act as a liaison between membership, operations and marketing team to communicate necessary information to membership
• Works closely with Member Events team to monitor event attendance and adjust communications accordingly
• Ideates and creates local promotions to attract new members and increase engagement of existing members

Job Requirements:

• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Attention to detail in order to produce timely, error-free work
• Proficient in email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp
• Design skills including Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva recommended
• Hands-on experience with web content management tools, like WordPress
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines
• Thrives in continuous improvement, fast-paced environment
• Undergraduate degree preferred but not required
• Flexibility including availability for weekend and evening work
