Job Description
The full pay range for the position is $29.96 to $44.94 per hour with an anticipated starting rate between entry ($29.96) and midpoint ($37.45) of the range. It's essential to note that the actual hourly rate offered will be determined based on several factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, education, certifications, training and internal equity considerations.
Purpose of Role:
Supporting safe and effective transit operations by performing preventative and corrective maintenance on communication and fare systems.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma or GED and one (1) year of experience in:
- Communications systems maintenance
- Network hardware diagnostics
- SCADA operations and troubleshooting highly desired
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
- Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.

Incumbent is required to obtain a Class B CDL permit within 90 days of attending New Employee Orientation and obtain a full Class B CDL with air brake endorsement within 6 months of hire.

- Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and support network, communication, and fare collection systems, including Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV), Public Address (PA) systems, fiber optics, and network nodes.
- Maintain communication infrastructure and fare collection equipment, including variable message boards.
- Identify, gather, and test necessary parts; safely work with electricity; and operate and maintain specialized tools and equipment.
- Perform general cleaning, maintenance, and inventory management of tools, parts, and equipment.
- Respond to emergencies and maintain detailed inspection, repair, and inventory records.
- Support cross-functional projects, system upgrades, and technology implementations to improve operations.
- Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
- Extensive understanding of SCADA system hardware theories.
- Advanced comprehension of network diagnostics methodologies.
- Thorough grasp of surveillance equipment maintenance processes.
- Detailed understanding of fare collection system operations procedures.
- Comprehensive knowledge of CCTV and PA system functionality theories.
- In-depth understanding of electrical safety procedures.
- Basic awareness of inventory control and parts tracking processes.
- Using a computer and related software.
Skill in:
- Inspecting communication and fare equipment accurately.
- Troubleshooting network and video system failures.
- Repairing SCADA-related devices efficiently.

Work Environment
Work is performed in a combination of office/vehicle/outdoor setting with routine use of standard office and specialty equipment. This role requires heavy physical exertion; exerting 50-100 lbs. occasionally, 10-25 lbs. frequently, or up to 10-20 lbs. constantly.
