Communications Technician Position Summary:
Install and maintain data servers and network equipment in a data center. Have troubleshooting and repair skills for fiber and copper.

Position Functions:
• Understanding all changes being done in Data Center's
• Scheduling and making sure proper support are available
• Making sure everyone has a billable project for their time
• Install copper and fiber meeting/exceeding JNJ standards
• Documenting/testing and labeling
• Determinate where equipment should go based on SAN/NET/SPACE requirements
• Updated Raised Floor Inventory (DCO and CMDB)
• Update Rack Diagrams for Projects (Visio)
• Document Power Logs
• Manage workload and scheduling for servers moves, network moves, and install projects
• Provide afterhours supports for ALL network changes that happen in these EDC
• Receive hardware at doc, determine PO's, coordinate deployment with PM's
• Shipping hardware to other sites
• Decommissioning servers, updating documentation
• Troubleshooting all cabling issues, Fiber, and copper for SAN/NETWORK/SERVER
• Standing up Racks/Labeling/Documenting.
• Watch the site during storms / check equipment after power outages, PDU failovers
• Meet with clients to determine their needs for space/cabling get quotes for cabling
Qualifications: Education & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, Engineering, or related field;
• Or 8 – 10 years of knowledge of computer programming languages and some relevant work experience.
• ·ServiceNow developers with minimum 2 certifications as Certified Implementation Specialist in any of ServiceNow module and hands-on deployment experience for minimum 5 years in ITSM and any one nonITSM functional domain.
