This is a full time 40 hour per week position, Monday through Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm. Nights and Weekend hours may be required from time to time. This position is located at our Boston Headquarters.
THE POSITION:
The Community Animal Welfare Agent will work alongside MSPCA Law Enforcement Officers and our Animal Care and Adoption Center staff to respond to the needs of animals and people. This position is a blend of field, dispatch, and office work; responding to inquiries from concerned citizens and animal professionals. The primary responsibilities of the Community Animal Welfare Agent will include responding to animal welfare concerns and offering proactive assistance in an effort to support community members and their pets. This position focuses on providing resources, education, and support to pet owners facing challenges.
The Community Animal Welfare Agent will also provide support to MSPCA-Angell Law Enforcement Officers. Support will include assisting during search warrants, field operations, and animal handling in the field. The position works collaboratively across the Animal Protection Division departments which includes the MSPCA four adoption centers, community clinics, advocacy, and community outreach teams.
This position is based out of our Boston Headquarters and will involve field work throughout Massachusetts.

This is an hourly position starting at $26-$28/hr.
APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:
We are looking for applicants with at least two years of experience with animal handling or animal care working in a professional setting. An ideal candidate will have the knowledge and ability to handle, restrain, and transport commonly encountered animals. Some additional requirements are:
