Common Threads Charitable Donation Services is on a mission to make giving back easy,

convenient, and impactful. We collect gently used clothing, shoes, accessories, and household

items, turning them into critical funding for our nonprofit partners while keeping items out of

landfills and promoting sustainability.

About the Role

Common Threads is looking for a Community Donations Ambassador to grow our presence and

donation volume within the communities we serve.

This is a sales, marketing, and community outreach role focused on building relationships with

local businesses, organizations, and community members. You will promote Common Threads

and our donation services, including On-Site Donations (OSD), Home Pickups, and Special

Pickups, while educating the community on how donations support our national charity partners.

You will spend significant time in the community—cold calling, emailing, visiting businesses,

attending events, networking, and developing new partnerships that generate donation

opportunities.

The ideal candidate is friendly, outgoing, comfortable approaching people they don't know, and

able to clearly communicate the value of Common Threads to different audiences.

This position will require occasional travel, expected to be approximately once per month or

less, for community events, conferences, and other business development opportunities.

What You'll Do

Business Development & Donation Growth

Identify and develop relationships with local businesses and organizations that can

generate donation opportunities.

Conduct outbound prospecting through cold calls, email, in-person visits, networking,

and referrals.

Promote and secure On-Site Donations, Home Pickup, and Special Pickup services to

businesses, organizations, and the communities we serve.

Grow the number of Home Pickups scheduled and pounds collected from households.

Generate new Special Pickup opportunities and recurring business partnerships.

Add attended donation stations and bin sites in your target market

Community Outreach & Brand Awareness

Serve as a visible representative of the Common Threads brand within the local

community.

Attend community events, networking events, conferences, and other opportunities to

promote Common Threads.

Build relationships with business leaders, community organizations, and other local

influencers.

Educate businesses and individuals on how Common Threads works and how their

donations support our charity partners.

Identify opportunities for donation drives, community partnerships, and other initiatives

that increase awareness and donations.

Make Common Threads a top-of-mind resource when people have items to donate.

Relationship Management & Collaboration

Build long-term relationships with businesses and organizations that can become

recurring donation partners.

Follow up consistently with prospects and existing partners to uncover additional

opportunities.

Work with Growth, Logistics, Operations, Marketing, and Store teams to successfully

execute donation opportunities.

Develop and present training materials to store on site donation attendants

Coordinate Home Pickup and Special Pickup opportunities with internal teams.

Maintain accurate CRM records and track prospecting and donation activity.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

Experience in sales, business development, marketing, community outreach,

fundraising, or a related field.

Comfortable cold calling, walking into businesses, and starting conversations with people

you don't know.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Friendly, outgoing, and confident interacting with a wide range of people.
