Are you passionate about gymnastics and love inspiring the next generation of athletes?
We are seeking an experienced, high-energy Head Gymnastics Coach to lead our classes, inspire our students, and mentor our Junior Coaches. As the primary instructional leader, you will be the driving force behind high-quality teaching, student safety, and skill progression in our gym.
If you are a skilled coach who thrives in a positive, fast-paced environment and loves celebrating student milestones, we want to hear from you!
What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities):
- Class Leadership: Take charge of assigned class levels, directing activities and delivering our established curriculum with enthusiasm, structure, and fun.
- Safety & Spotting: Put safety first by providing active, expert, hands-on spotting for athletes. You'll also maintain a vigilant eye on the safety and setup of all equipment in use.
- Student Assessment & Parent Communication: Conduct regular skill assessments to track student progress and provide clear, encouraging feedback to parents regarding their child's achievements and next steps.
- Mentorship: Act as a leader on the floor by supervising Junior Coaches, assigning them tasks, and providing valuable "on-the-spot" training and feedback during class rotations.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements):
- Experience: Proven experience coaching gymnastics, tumbling, or cheerleading (advanced recreational or competitive experience preferred).
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of gymnastics progressions and the ability to confidently provide hands-on spotting for various skill levels.
- Leadership Qualities: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a natural ability to command a room and mentor junior staff.
- Parent Relations: A warm, professional demeanor when interacting with parents and families.
- Certifications: USAG membership, safety certifications, and CPR/First Aid training are highly preferred (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Why You'll Love Working With Us:
- Leadership Opportunity: Play a pivotal role in shaping our curriculum and mentoring the next generation of coaches.
- Competitive Pay: Rewarding compensation based on your coaching experience and expertise.
- Great Culture: Work in a supportive, collaborative, and energetic environment where your impact is celebrated.
Pay is $22 per hour.
Benefits: This is a part-time position. While it does not qualify for group health insurance, retirement contributions, or company-sponsored paid time off, the employee will accrue paid Minnesota Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) at a rate of 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
