    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a dynamic Community Education Speaker & Contributor to join our Community Engagement Team. You are an experienced bi-lingual clinician who enjoys working with and on behalf of young people — and who has a gift for translating clinical expertise into culturally accessible, engaging content for the people who support them. In this role, you will serve as a trusted voice and educator, making complex topics in youth mental health, learning differences, and executive function understandable and actionable for parents, educators, school communities, and allied professionals. You will create compelling content, lead presentations, and help grow our organization’s reach and impact. Through these efforts, the role helps elevate CHC as a trusted thought leader while fostering meaningful connections with families, educators, and community stakeholders. The position also collaborates with internal teams and external partners to ensure content is relevant, high-quality, and responsive to community needs.

    This is a Part-time, with varying hours depending on requests for speakers. There may be evening, morning and weekend events.  More frequent evenings and/or weekends events may take place in spring and fall seasons.

    The position is based out of our Palo Alto, CA campus, with flexibility for hybrid work. Speaking events will require travel within the local community and surrounding areas.

    Essential Functions
    Public Speaking & Community Education

    • Deliver engaging presentations, workshops, and trainings to diverse community audiences including parents, educators, school staff, and youth-serving professionals
    • Represent CHC with ease and expertise at school and community events, conferences, and panel discussions and CHC’s podcast, providing attendees with confidence in CHC’s services
    • Adapt communication style and content to meet the needs of varying audiences, from educators to parents and caregivers
    • Engage attendees through expert, practical content that emphasizes easy to implement strategies
    • Respond and run Question & Answer sessions with ease, confidence and expertise 

    Content Creation

    • Develop and design slide presentations for in person and virtual delivery
    • Create accessible, research-informed blog posts and educational articles for the organization’s website and newsletters 
    • Create and appear in video content (e.g., educational series, social media, webinars) that extends the organization’s reach
    • Collaborate with the Impact & Partnership team to ensure content is on-brand, accurate, and mission aligned

    Collaboration & Engagement

    • Work cross-functionally with clinical, schools, and partnership staff to develop and refine educational materials
    • Participate in panels and media opportunities as a subject matter expert
    • Gather community feedback to continuously improve educational offerings
    • Stay current on research and best practices in youth mental health, learning differences, and executive function

    Other events 

    • Act as CHC expert and speaker for donor events
    • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

    Position Requirements and Qualifications

    •  Active professional license in a relevant field (e.g., LCSW, MFT, LPC, school psychologist, licensed educational specialist, or equivalent)
    • Expertise in learning differences (including executive function)
    • Comfort, experience and expertise in speaking and presenting to various audiences
    • Adept with using technology as tool and resource
    • Clinical Experience: Meaningful direct experience working with children, teens, and/or young adults, with a genuine enthusiasm for this population
    • Specialized Knowledge: Demonstrated expertise in youth and adolescent mental health, learning differences (e.g., ADHD, dyslexia, learning disabilities), executive function development and DBT skills
    • Communication Skills: Proven ability to take clinical or research-based concepts and present them in language that is clear, warm, and accessible to non-clinical audiences; exceptional written and verbal communication skills
    • Public Speaking: Comfortable, engaging, and credible presenting to community audiences such as parents, educators, or school communities — on stage and on camera; experience in panel facilitation and/or media appearances
    • Content Creation: Experience developing educational materials including slide decks, written content, and/or video
    • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a team and alongside colleagues across departments
    • Planning & Organization: detail oriented, organized, effective time manager
    • Lifelong Learner: Open to learning, growing
    • Community based work: Experience working within or alongside school systems, districts, or community-based organizations serving youth and/or parents
    • Ability to work extensively with interpersonal interactions with peers and outside contacts.
    • Languages: Bilingual in Spanish highly desired
