Community Engagement Coordinator 

Reports to: Principal
Position Type: Full-Time, Administrative Position
Location: Mevers School of Excellence 

Position Overview

The Community Engagement Coordinator leads strategic family and community partnerships to strengthen enrollment stability, student engagement, and school visibility. This role ensures alignment between the school’s charter mission and its community presence.

The Coordinator plays a key role in student recruitment, retention, family communication, and external partnerships.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Family Engagement & Communication
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive family engagement plan.
  • Coordinate parent workshops, informational sessions, and engagement events.
  • Ensure consistent communication aligned with school branding and mission.
  • Support attendance initiatives and family outreach efforts.

Community Partnerships
  • Establish partnerships with local businesses, nonprofits, and civic organizations.
  • Represent the school at community events and networking opportunities.
  • Coordinate volunteer programs and mentorship opportunities.

Enrollment & Retention
  • Support student recruitment initiatives and enrollment campaigns.
  • Assist with lottery events and application support.
  • Develop strategies to improve student retention and family satisfaction.

Branding & Public Relations
  • Collaborate with leadership on marketing and outreach strategies.
  • Support social media presence and promotional materials.
  • Ensure messaging reflects charter accountability and academic excellence.

Compliance & Documentation
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach efforts and engagement metrics.
  • Support state and charter reporting requirements as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Education, Public Relations, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Experience in school engagement, nonprofit leadership, or community outreach.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of charter school environments and enrollment processes preferred.
  • Ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.

Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively; sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Work Environment
This position operates in a professional school environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and instructional materials.
