    Description

    New Position.  New Growth for the Youth of Manatee County!  
    Location:  Manatee County, FL
     
     

    We are seeking an outgoing, experienced Human Services professional to serve as the Community Engagement Manager in Manatee County. This dynamic role focuses on expanding our community presence for volunteer engagement, youth enrollment, cultivating match partnerships, and activities that are in line with the strategy for Manatee and Sarasota County growth.

    You’ll be a leading conduit of BBBS Sun Coast in Manatee County — building bridges with schools, local governments, nonprofits, and businesses to grow our impact. Your work will directly contribute to the growth and success of the youth we serve.

     
    This position will work out of the Bradenton offices as well as support the initiatives throughout the county.
     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Interacts with regional business groups, professional organizations, and agency resources for volunteer engagement and youth/family outreach with a hands-on approach to recruiting, soliciting feedback, and support to grow a volunteer base and increase youth/family enrollment.
    • Reviews data and participates in developing community outreach strategies specific to the assigned region(s) for key performance metrics, such as new matches, time-to-match and education progression/graduation rates.
    • Utilizes present Volunteer, Youth and Family base for feedback and recommendations to enhance their experience.
    • Reports on activities and results to key stakeholder
    • Creates and leads the volunteer, youth/family enrollment of the County for all programs, consistent with the goals of the Program Initiatives.
    • Promotes the agency’s objectives and initiatives in the community by participating in speaking engagements to foster support, branding and name recognition of the agency for volunteer development and youth/family enrollment.
    • Participates in cross-functional agency teams to develop the County community outreach plans, including budgetary and resource requirements.
    • Works in conjunction with Program and Development to accomplish established goals.
    • Works with Communications and Marketing for active Volunteer recognition and rewards for the County, such as the Big of the Year or more frequent intervals to maintain engagement.
    • Develops and ensures effective and timely partner recognition and stewardship with the Communications and Marketing department.
    • Maintains the ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise that are within the capacity of the position.
    • Maintains data and records of multiple activities in an organized and concise manner.
     
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Education, Human Services, or a related field desired.

    • Minimum 2-5 years of experience in a human services, youth development, or community outreach role preferred.

    • Lives in or near Manatee County or has strong local ties preferred for optimal community engagement.

    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.

    • Strong public speaking and relationship-building skills.

    • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation — travel is approximately 60%.

    • Must be flexible to attend community events on evenings/weekends as needed.
