The Salvation Army Midland Divisional Headquarters located in St. Louis, Missouri, is searching for a Community Engagement Manager. This is a salaried position that comes with an excellent benefits package.

Our idea of the ideal candidate is someone who thrives on working directly with people in the community. This person will assist individuals with making a difference in their community through volunteer opportunities with The Salvation Army. They will enjoy matching people's strengths and passions with the available service needs of our organization.

Another exciting aspect of this position is that it will serve as the point person for our organization's special events. Events such as the annual Red Kettle Campaign.

Some, but not all, of the essential duties of this position are:

  1. Develop and implement volunteer recruitment and management policies and procedures in accordance with

organizational policies and existing Volunteer Handbook.

  1. Maintain a customer service mindset in every connection with officers, staff, the community and volunteers.

  2. Establish annual goals and objectives for community engagement in mission and ministry.

  3. Manage and troubleshoot as needed the online volunteer platform.

  4. Manage a year-round strategy for recruiting groups of volunteers from corporations and community groups.

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, a candidate will need a bachelor's degree and four years of related work experience. A combination of education and experience will be taken into consideration. We're looking for an individual who is professional, personable, works well with people, and one who understands and appreciates the diverse audience in local communities. Previous supervisory or volunteer management experience is required. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills. We're seeking someone who has skill and confidence in computer software applications including Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook, and who can navigate the internet. They must have a valid driver's license and pass The Salvation Army MVR.
