Description / Position Overview
Community Health Emergency Medical Technician (ART)
Alternative Response Teams (ART) - Provides low acuity medical and behavioral health response to calls within the Police dispatch system. This position will work with a Fire Department Crisis Navigator.
The Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD) is hiring an emergency medical technician (EMT) to staff our Alternate Response Units. In this position, you will provide medical and administrative assistance to support CSFDs Mobile Integrated Health initiatives including 911 response. You will need to evaluate and triage individuals medical needs, provide primary care and/or assist with advanced life support. Necessary job duties will include medical evaluation, treatment, and stabilization of the physically and mentally ill or injured. As a medically trained team member you will be responsible for determining if an individual needs medical attention and if an ALS intervention is needed. This position is subject to budget required furloughs to be implemented in the 2026 calendar year, and any furloughs subsequently approved.
Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
Job Type: Full-Time; This Special (at-will) position has an estimated end date of July 2027. Please note that this timeline is subject to change and the role may conclude earlier or be extended beyond this date.
