    Ready, Set, Smile has openings for two new Community Health Worker/ Unlicensed Dental Assistants (Oral Health Assistants- CHW/OHA).
    These positions are full time,  40 hours a week, working in our school-based oral health program.

    Ready, Set, Smile CHW/OHA's have an dynamic, important role. You work with schools to prepare for our dental clinics, support dental providers in the clinics, deliver health education to children in classrooms, and support families to get the dental services their children need. People who are successful at RSS like to be on a team, love learning, and work to deliver excellent services to children.

    The position works in our headquarters, in south Minneapolis, about half the time and the rest of the time you'll be out in schools around the Metro Area. Find out more about our work at www.readysetsmile.org .

    Minimum Qualifications 
    • High School Diploma or its equivalent. 
    • Experience working in a multicultural setting. 
    • Have a driver’s license and be willing to travel during the workdays. 
    • Understands the community served - community connectedness. 
      Good communication skills, such as listening well, and using language appropriately. 
    • Ability and willingness to provide emotional support, encouragement and motivation to patients. 
    • Enrollment in a Community Health Worker certificate program or a Licensed Dental Assistant program at one of our partner schools. 
    Preferred Qualifications 
    • Ability to communicate with adults and children through writing and spoken language in one of RSS priority languages. In 2026, this is Spanish, Hmong, Somali, or Karen. 
    • Experience building trust and relationships within African American community.
    • Existing relationships with community service organizations and schools. 
    • Experience working in healthcare setting. 
    • Some college credits, post high-school coursework.
    • Community Health Worker Certificate (hourly pay will be higher for a Certified CHW). Or ability to pursue certification on your own time.
    RSS offers generous tuition assistance for staff pursuing dental careers. This assistance must be applied for, through RSS, at least three months before starting classes.
    Compensation: $21.50 - $24.00 per hour
