The Community interviewers will meet with medical school applicants at a time to learn more about the applicants and their ability to provide care to the Lehigh Valley community.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in a minimum of 2 interview days each month during the interview season of September to March.
Complete an online interview evaluation to provide feedback on each medical student applicant.
Interview up to four medicals student applicants in a semi-structured small group.
Complete admissions training prior to admissions season.
Attend admissions retreat in-person at the Temple/St. Luke's School of Medicine in September.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to use a computer, keyboard, and mouse to complete online interview evaluations. Ability to attend in-person meetings and training sessions. Ability to lift or carry light materials (e.g. laptop, folders, or documents). Ability to hear and understand spoken conversations in individual and small-group interview settings, with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to communicate effectively with applicants and admissions staff in person and through virtual platforms. Ability to read printed and electronic documents, including applicant materials and evaluation forms. Ability to maintain attention, concentration, and observation during interviews to accurately assess applicants.
EDUCATION:
High school diploma or GED required. Demonstrated interest in higher education, healthcare, or community service preferred.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Previous interviewing experience preferred. Experience with using the Zoom Platform and troubleshooting challenges that might arise during a meeting.
