Position Overview:

The Community Marketing Assistant is a temporary, part-time role responsible for increasing community awareness through grassroots marketing, campus outreach, promotional events, and local activations. As a brand representative, this position engages prospective residents, supports marketing initiatives, and helps create meaningful connections within the local students and surrounding community. Working closely with the onsite team, the Community Marketing Assistant contributes to outreach efforts that support leasing season goals and strengthen the property's presence in the market.

What You Will Do:

Outreach & Brand Awareness

  • Represent the community professionally and enthusiastically during campus outreach, street marketing, local events, and other promotional activities.
  • Distribute approved marketing materials, promotional items, and community information in designated locations.
  • Engage prospective residents in approachable, brand-aligned conversations that build awareness and interest in the community.
  • Communicate the community’s key features, amenities, location benefits, and lifestyle offerings using approved messaging.

Events & Activations

  • Support the setup, execution, and breakdown of community activations, promotional events, tabling opportunities, giveaways, and outreach initiatives.
  • Create a welcoming and engaging experience for prospective residents and community partners during events.
  • Assist with event supplies, branded materials, signage, promotional items, and other activation needs.
  • Follow event plans, activation schedules, and direction provided by the onsite team.
  • Maintain an organized, professional, and brand-aligned presence throughout each event or activation.

Campus & Community Engagement

  • Build positive connections with students, campus organizations, local businesses, and community members through in-person outreach.
  • Support approved partnerships and outreach efforts with university organizations, student groups, local businesses, and community partners.
  • Encourage prospective residents to take an approved next step, such as visiting the community, attending an event, scanning a QR code, or connecting with the leasing team.
  • Gather general questions, feedback, or market observations from prospective residents and share relevant insights with the onsite team.
  • Maintain professionalism and communicate respectfully when representing Core and the community in public settings.
  • Help identify high-traffic locations, campus activities, student organizations, and local opportunities that could increase brand visibility.

Marketing Support & Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the onsite marketing and leasing teams to understand current campaigns, outreach priorities, approved messaging, and activation goals.
  • Participate in required training and team check-ins to remain informed about the community, current promotions, brand standards, and upcoming marketing initiatives.
  • Track outreach activity, materials distributed, prospective resident interactions, or other requested information accurately and consistently.
  • Maintain marketing supplies and notify the appropriate team member when additional materials or resources are needed.
  • Support additional short-term marketing, outreach, and community engagement projects as assigned.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • This is a temporary, part-time position with hours determined by business needs, outreach activities, and community priorities. Team members must be available to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, campus events, and peak leasing periods.
  • Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments, including campuses, community events, local businesses, and other outreach locations.
  • The role regularly requires standing, walking, and moving throughout assigned outreach areas while engaging with prospective residents and distributing promotional materials.
  • Team members may occasionally be exposed to varying weather conditions, crowds, moderate noise levels, and high-traffic environments.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, or move marketing materials, event supplies, tables, signage, and other items weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to safely travel between assigned outreach, activation, and event locations and perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ideally, You'll Have:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently engage new people.
  • A professional, dependable, and enthusiastic approach to representing the Core brand.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, follow direction, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with the local student population, university environment, or surrounding market.
  • Ability to travel to assigned outreach and activation locations.

You'll crush it if you have experience with

  • Grassroots marketing, campus outreach, promotional events, or brand activations.
  • Student organizations, athletics, Greek life, residence life, or other campus involvement.
  • Customer service, hospitality, retail, sales, or other public-facing roles.
  • Creating engaging experiences while representing a brand or organization.
