    Job Description

    Do you thrive on connecting with people while keeping operations organized and running smoothly? This growing technology-focused organization is seeking a Community & Operations Manager to serve as a key point of contact for members, visitors, presenters, and community partners while overseeing the day-to-day operations of its flagship technology incubator and Learning Center. This hands-on role combines office management, program coordination, event support, community engagement, and promotion of technology education programs throughout the Charleston area.

    The Compensation

    • $70,000 Annual Base Salary Commensurate with Experience

     

    The Location

    • 100% Fully Onsite Position based in downtown Charleston, SC
    • Monday to Friday (8 AM - 5 PM)

    The Role

    • Manage financial records, invoices, membership renewals, dashboards, data records, and reporting systems.
    • Oversee office supplies, equipment, vendor relationships, mail, package distribution, and storage organization.
    • Coordinate internal meeting schedules, shared-space bookings, and day-to-day office logistics.
    • Maintain shared spaces, including kitchens, conference rooms, and common areas, ensuring they remain clean, organized, and functional.
    • Own daily operations for the Learning Center, including scheduling, setup, teardown, and cleanup.
    • Coordinate calendars for classes, certificate programs, and meetups while working with presenters and community partners to maintain engaging programming.
    • Manage registration, attendance tracking, and materials for classes, workshops, and certificate programs.
    • Promote Learning Center programs through social media, email, flyers, and grassroots community outreach.
    • Coordinate private space bookings and rentals for meetups, corporate meetings, and events, including catering and room setup.
    • Build and maintain relationships with presenters, community organizations, and local businesses to expand programming opportunities.
    • Gather participant feedback and apply insights to improve the Learning Center’s program lineup.
    • Coordinate event logistics, including setup, breakdown, and day-of support.
    • Draft and distribute community updates, announcements, and communications through email and social media.
    • Collaborate with the team to create opportunities that strengthen connections throughout the local technology ecosystem.
    • Represent the organization at partner events, meetups, and local functions to promote the incubator and Learning Center.
    • Welcome and support members, visitors, vendors, and class participants with professionalism and warmth.
    • Lead onboarding for new residents and introduce them to available membership benefits and resources.
    • Build relationships with members, gather feedback, and proactively address their needs.
    • Conduct tours for prospective residents, students, and community partners.
    • Maintain a professional, collaborative, and welcoming environment throughout shared spaces.


    The Background Profile

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
    • 3+ years of experience in office management, program or class coordination, facilities coordination, or community management
    • Experience managing schedules, logistics, records, and operational details
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
    • Experience with QuickBooks or similar financial and business management tools
    • Comfortable using artificial intelligence tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini
    • Experience using social media platforms for communication or promotion
