About the Role:
The Community Outreach Coordinator connects the magic of our classrooms with the families and communities we serve. This role blends community engagement, relationship-building, and hands-on classroom support to authentically share the Meaningful Beginnings experience. By working closely with children, educators, and families, you become a storyteller and ambassador for our mission, helping build meaningful connections and expand our vibrant community.
Key Responsibilities
Community Outreach & Enrollment Support
- Represent Meaningful Beginnings at local fairs, school expos, community gatherings, and networking events.
- Form and maintain connections with local businesses, parent groups, community centers, and pediatrician offices to drive word-of-mouth referrals.
- Maintain an active pipeline of prospective families, distribute marketing materials, and coordinate with our enrollment team to support tours and open houses.
Classroom Connection & Substitute Support
- Step into the classrooms as a substitute or support teacher as needed. Use this time to bond with the children, get to know our current families, and deeply understand our curriculum.
- While in the centers, use your phone to snap quick, raw photos or videos of everyday classroom life and hand them off to our dedicated marketing team.
- Leverage your genuine relationships with current families to encourage and support them in sharing positive online reviews.
Qualifications
Required:
- ECE Background & Classroom Comfort: A genuine love for being around young children and a background in early childhood education (prior teaching experience and/or ECE units are highly preferred, as you will be substituting in the classrooms).
- People First: Natural relationship-builder with excellent communication skills, a warm, approachable demeanor, and confidence speaking to new parents.
- Autonomy & Flexibility: Ability to balance your schedule seamlessly between classroom substitute shifts and off-site community events.
- Mobility: Ability to travel locally between our San Francisco and upcoming San Mateo locations, as well as community event sites.
Preferred:
- Experience in community engagement, marketing, event planning, or admissions/sales.
- Bilingual abilities are a major plus.
Physical Demands
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. This role requires:
- Standing, walking, or interacting on a child's eye level (kneeling/sitting on the floor) for extended periods.
- Lifting or transporting event materials up to 20–25 lbs (e.g., pop-up banners, brochures, event supplies).
- Setting up and breaking down outreach tables or display booths.
