Family Guidance Centers, Inc. is a substance use treatment organization offering comprehensive behavioral health programs, including medication-assisted recovery, to individuals with substance use disorders (SUDs) and co-occurring mental health conditions. With over 25 years of experience and multiple locations across the state, we provide a full continuum of care for substance use disorder, from prevention and harm reduction to treatment and recovery support. Our programs integrate FDA-approved medications for the treatment of substance use disorders, including all three medications approved to treat opioid use disorder (buprenorphine, methadone, and naltrexone). We strive to meet our patients where they are, bringing care outside clinic walls via telehealth and mobile services and ensuring patients have access to harm reduction resources and education.

Looking for candidates with personal lived experiences regarding substance use disorder and recovery.

Essential Duties:

Conduct outreach to people who use drugs, people experiencing homelessness, and communities. Also, educate on overdose prevention and distribute overdose prevention supplies.

Describe FGC programs, services, and eligibility requirements in layman’s terms to people struggling with opioid and alcohol addiction and those at risk of overdosing, as well as family members or friends of people struggling with addiction, informing and assisting them to gain immediate access to treatment.

Develop and direct prospective referrals to FGC and other treatment providers, as appropriate and following patients’ needs and wishes.

Conduct field-based spectrometer testing, including running samples on the FTIR, interpreting results in consultation with the manager and external experts, explaining results to the sample provider, and logging all data.

Collaborate with external expert drug checkers to stay informed about emerging drug supply trends and advancements in drug-checking techniques.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (7:00a - 3:30p)

Work Location: 15400 S. Page Ave., Harvey

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $21.00 per hour

Required Experience:

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Lived experience with substance use and being in stable recovery is a requirement for this position. Preference will be given to individuals who also have working knowledge of medication-assisted treatment (MAT), drug-free recovery programming, and hospital-based medical detox admission and discharge processes. Familiarity with federal and state confidentiality laws is essential. Certification as CRSS is preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance.
