Assisting Hands Oswego is looking for a motivated, compassionate, and relationship-driven Community Relations Representative to join our growing team. As a private-pay, non-medical home care agency, our mission is to provide a concierge-level experience for our clients by connecting them with exceptional caregivers, coordinating their care, and supporting their desire to remain safely and comfortably at home.
About the Role
As our Community Relations Representative, you will serve as a key liaison between Assisting Hands Oswego, our local community, and referral partners. You will be responsible for increasing awareness of our services, developing strong referral relationships, generating new business opportunities, and helping grow our client census.
You will build relationships with a variety of referral sources, including:
- Senior living communities
- Independent living, assisted living, and memory care communities
- Physicians and medical practices
- Hospitals and healthcare systems
- Home health and hospice agencies
- Rehabilitation facilities
- Care managers
- Social workers and nurses
- Community and senior centers
- Veterans organizations
- Concierge medical groups
- Other community and healthcare organizations
The ideal candidate is outgoing, confident, highly motivated, and passionate about helping others. You should enjoy networking, meeting new people, making presentations, and developing long-term professional relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective referral sources throughout our service area.
- Promote Assisting Hands Home Care and educate healthcare professionals, senior living communities, and other referral partners about our services.
- Identify and develop new referral opportunities through networking, cold calling, office visits, community events, presentations, sponsorships, and other marketing activities.
- Expand our network of referral sources throughout Yorkville, Oswego, Plainfield, Bolingbrook, and surrounding areas.
- Represent Assisting Hands at community events, networking opportunities, educational programs, and other outreach activities.
- Follow our established marketing and relationship-building strategies, including our 52-week marketing platform.
- Help generate consistent and ongoing referrals with the goal of increasing our client census and growing the agency.
- Maintain accurate records of marketing activities, contacts, referrals, and follow-up activities.
- Support the agency's social media and community presence by helping identify opportunities to increase brand awareness and engagement.
- Meet established weekly, monthly, and quarterly marketing and referral goals and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Provide exceptional customer service and represent Assisting Hands with professionalism, compassion, and integrity.
- Maintain a patient-first approach in all interactions with clients, families, referral sources, and community partners.
Qualifications & Skills
- Highly motivated, self-directed, and results-oriented.
- Excellent communication, presentation, networking, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Previous healthcare, senior care, home care, sales, marketing, business development, or related experience preferred.
- Strong customer service background.
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
- Comfortable speaking with healthcare professionals, business leaders, seniors, families, and community members.
- Confident educating referral sources and prospective clients about home care services.
- Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
- Strong follow-up skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable using social media and digital platforms to promote brand awareness.
- Passion for serving seniors and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
- High ethical standards with a commitment to putting clients and families first.
- Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current automobile insurance.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is persistent, energetic, and comfortable stepping outside of their comfort zone to develop new relationships and opportunities. You should be someone who doesn't get discouraged by rejection and understands that successful community relations and business development require consistent follow-up, creativity, and relationship building.
A strong candidate will have a "can-do" attitude, be willing to learn our marketing and referral-development strategies, and take ownership of helping drive the growth of our agency.
Schedule & Travel
This is a full-time, salaried position requiring approximately 40 hours per week.
The schedule may vary depending on community events, networking opportunities, and the availability of referral partners. Some evening or weekend events may occasionally be required.
The position requires regular travel throughout our service area, including Yorkville, Oswego, Plainfield, Bolingbrook, and surrounding communities. Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and current vehicle insurance are required.
The Community Relations Representative may also be assigned an on-call phone and may be required to respond to referral requests outside of normal business hours, as needed.
